Frequently Asked Questions | CodeSync

Fast, GDPR-compliant package infrastructure for Germany

Latency, Availability & Infrastructure

Technical details about our Frankfurt-based mirror architecture, caching strategies, and SLA guarantees.

Latency & Performance

What is the typical response time for npm and PyPI package requests?

Our Frankfurt-Region-3 nodes deliver median response times of 12 ms for npm registry lookups and 18 ms for PyPI metadata. Thanks to edge caching and predictive pre-fetching, 94% of all requests are served under 25 ms, even during peak loads exceeding 8,000 req/s.

Availability & SLA

What uptime guarantee does CodeSync provide?

We guarantee 99.95% monthly uptime for all Enterprise instances. If downtime exceeds 45 minutes in a calendar month, you automatically receive a 10% credit on your next invoice. Our redundant load-balancing architecture spans three physical data centers in Frankfurt and Stuttgart.

GDPR & Data Residency

Are package download logs or query metadata stored outside the EU?

No. All access logs, cache objects, and telemetry remain exclusively on servers located in Germany. We do not use third-party analytics and never transmit usage data to foreign cloud providers. You can optionally reduce log retention to 30 days or disable it entirely via the dashboard.

Support Tiers

How quickly will I receive help for critical integration issues?

Enterprise customers receive 24/7 phone and live chat support with a guaranteed initial response time of under 15 minutes. Standard subscriptions use our ticketing system, which is processed within 4 hours on business days (08:00–18:00 CET). All tickets are handled directly by our senior DevOps engineers based in Munich.

Billing & Volume

How is monthly traffic calculated and invoiced?

Traffic is measured in 1 GB increments and billed using the 95th percentile model, so short-term spikes are not penalized. Standard plans include 500 GB, while Enterprise contracts are volume-flexible with automatic overdraft until the next billing cycle. Invoices are issued monthly in advance and clearly separate German VAT.

Migration & Integration

Does CodeSync support migrating existing Nexus or Artifactory instances?

Yes. Our SyncBridge migration toolkit automatically transfers package indexes, permission rules, and CI/CD webhooks. Full migrations from Artifactory Pro typically complete in under 6 hours. We provide parallel synchronization during the transition to ensure zero downtime for your development teams.
